After soliciting nominations from students representing all schools at Harvard, the Planning Committee for the 2023 Harvard AAPI/APIDA (Asian American Pacific Islander/Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) Affinity Celebration selected Alex Chen, founding director of LSC’s LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic, clinical instructor, and lecturer on law, to receive the faculty award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Alex spoke at the AAPI/APIDA Affinity Celebration on May 22, and challenged students to explore how they can lean into their family heritage to contribute that richness to American society, and make it stronger and more equitable.
