In this Boston Globe letter to the editor, Rebecca Greening, clinical instructor in the Family Justice Clinic at LSC, argues that the Department of Children and Families (DCF) should not be the path to care for medically complex children. Instead, Rebecca suggests that “it is time to radically reimagine DCF” and allocate resources early on to supports that parents and children need, including high-quality, affordable day care; schools that fund special education services; direct income supports; and community-based behavioral health care.
